Eavesdrop on any team meeting and you will hear the phrase “winning a national championship” by either a player or coach.
Talking about a national championship doesn’t guarantee victory, but it makes you realize why you invest an entire college career to achieve such a goal, the reason for extra workouts and long hours on the range and putting green. You want to leave college knowing you did everything in your power to help the team win a national title.
After six years — while earning two degrees — at Wake Forest, I can proudly say that we are the 2023 NCAA champions. Along our road to victory, we experienced many highlights, led by winning five times in the regular season. But we also endured a lot of adversity — from the media doubting our post-season efforts, to losing in the semifinals of the ACC Championship and rallying the last day of regionals just to get into the NCAA championship.
