It’s harvest time of year, which means mornings are chillier, days are noticeably shorter, and a trip to the golf course is all about layers that can be added or shed depending on the changing weather conditions.
Along these lines, golf apparel brands are presenting fall/early winter items of different weights and textures using insulation, moisture management, and four-way stretch fabrics to keep you warm and dry without restricting movement. For female golfers, this can mean investing in pieces that are a little on the pricier side but facilitate comfort that allows play much later into the year.
Here is a sampling of standout products for those who refuse to let dropping temperatures keep them from playing the game they love:
Zero Restriction Evie Mock ($185): Made of a stretch poly spandex knit, this stylish pullover is as at home on the golf course as at a yoga studio. It features a mock neck collar with drawstring, drop shoulder, kangaroo pocket, and self fabric at the cuffs and bottom hem. Shown in alabaster (above, center), the Evie is also available in white, wildflower, cloud, and storm.
Galvin Green Nicoline Golf Leggings ($99): These fashionable golf leggings are made from a high-tech performance stretch fabric that’s breathable, quick-dry, soft, and offers UV protection of 20-plus. Featuring a drawstring at the waist and leg side pockets for storing a phone, golf balls, or gloves, Nicoline leggings will keep you warm and dry on the course in harsher conditions. Available in Alaska blue/white (shown, right), black, navy, and navy/white.
FootJoy ThermoSeries Insulated Vest ($165): A long-standing leader in golf outerwear, FootJoy says ThermoSeries is its “most advanced and versatile apparel layering system ever.” Engineered to adapt to changing weather conditions, this vest has a full front zipper for easy on and off and side pockets to protect your hands from the elements. The quilted insulated design is lightweight and provides warmth, while a durable water-repellent finish helps keep golfers dry during a mist or light rain. Available in navy (shown, left), black, and blue.
KJUS Women’s Radiation Jacket ($329): Designed for cold to very cold days, this windproof jacket offers featherlight but warm insulation and breathable stretch panels at the sides and back for exceptional freedom of movement.
